A cardinal is contrasted against the ornate face and window of the Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, better known as the Washington National Cathedral in Washington D.C. The west rose window in this Paul Jackson watercolor was dedicated in 1977 with President Jimmy Carter and Queen Elizabeth II in attendance. This painting is 30" X 22", completed in 2008 and is one of a series of architectural works by the artist of churches, monuments and museums across Europe and the United States.
